  • From 1 July 2025: Save Big with the Cheaper Home Batteries Program

The re-elected Labor Government is launching a $2.3 billion Cheaper Home Batteries Program, making it easier and more affordable for Australians to take control of their energy.

From 1 July 2025, eligible households will receive a 30% discount on the installed cost of home batteries—saving around $4,000 on average. When paired with new solar systems, this could reduce your energy bills by up to 90%.

The program aims to support the installation of over one million batteries by 2030, leveraging the existing Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.

Small businesses and community facilities are also eligible for support, making this a great opportunity to lower operating costs and boost sustainability.

Also, From 1 July 2025, the NSW Government is boosting the incentive for connecting your battery to a VPP. For example, the payment for a 27kWh battery will increase from around $800 to $1,500.

While Eco Sparky doesn’t set up VPP connections, you're welcome to explore this option with a VPP provider to make the most of your new battery system.

  • Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
Under the Australian Government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), you can receive STCs when you install an eligible solar system. These certificates have a monetary value you can sell to help reduce the upfront cost of your system. Typically, the rebate value ranges between $2,000 and $6,000, depending on the size of your system and your location.

For small business and commercial installations, we tailor each system to suit the specific energy needs of the site. We assess usage patterns, goals, and site conditions to select the most suitable brands and products for optimal performance and return on investment.

No matter the project size, we’re committed to quality, reliability, and helping you take control of your energy future. here

  • Batteries let you store unused solar energy to power your home at night or during blackouts. The Tesla Powerwall 3 is a cutting-edge solution offering high capacity, backup protection, and sleek integration with your solar setup.

A BYD Battery System offers scalable energy storage, allowing you to easily expand your setup as your energy needs grow.

  • Analysis by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water shows a household with existing rooftop solar could save up to $1,100 off their power bill every year, and a household installing a new solar and a battery system could save up to $2,300 a year – up to 90 per cent of a typical family electricity bill.

  • Solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then changes this into alternating current (AC), which powers your home. A smart meter tracks how much electricity you use and export to the grid.

  • An inverter is an electronic device that converts direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). It is commonly used to power household appliances and electronic devices that require AC power when only DC power sources are available, such as in solar power systems or car batteries.

  • Excess solar energy you produce will be exported to the electricity grid where, depending on your retailer and tariff, you may be given a credit towards your electricity bill.

  • Yes, however please let us know your intentions. This way we can design your system be battery-ready, so you can install solar now and add a battery like Tesla Powerwall 2 or BYD when you're ready.

  • Yes, Solar Panels will lower your electricity bill.

By generating your own electricity from the sun, you'll reduce your reliance on the grid and the electricity you need to purchase from your energy provider.

The extent of your savings will depend on factors like your home's energy consumption, solar panel system size, and whether you export excess electricity back to the grid or store it in a battery.

  • Absolutely. We specialise in designing and installing solar systems for businesses of all sizes, from small commercial rooftops to systems over 100kW.

  • Yes, we install EV chargers for everyday use. We specialise in standard AC chargers (not DC fast chargers), with options to integrate seamlessly with your solar and battery system.

  • Absolutely. With the right setup, your Electric Vehicle can be charged directly from your solar system or stored battery energy, making your driving truly clean and cost-effective.
